Erbil rocket victim dies a week after attack

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — A second person injured in last week's rocket attack on Erbil has died of their wounds, the Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Interior announced on Monday.

Nawaf Rashd, 31, from Iraq’s Salahaddin province has died of his injuries nearly a week after fourteen rockets hit various locations across Erbil, Minister Rebar Ahmed told reporters on Monday. The Iraqi was one of the 14 people injured in the attacks, which have yet to be attributed.

A US-led coalition spokesperson has previously announced the death of a foreign contractor working at a military section at Erbil International Airport.
